Robert E. Kiernan III

Robert E. Kiernan III

Robert E. Kiernan III is the Chief Executive Officer of Advanced Portfolio Management (APM). Before founding APM, Mr. Kiernan spent nearly two decades in the capital markets with Salomon Brothers and Lehman Brothers, during which he was responsible for building, managing, and leading multiple global capital markets and investment banking businesses based in the US and Europe.Prior to joining Salomon Brothers, Mr. Kiernan held several foreign policy positions in the Reagan administration including appointments at the National Security Council, and the Department of State, and USIA.  He was also a member of the US Delegation to the United Nations Human Rights Commission.

Mr. Kiernan currently serves in a number of board positions including Chairman of the Board of Directors of Educate Girls Globally, member of the Advisory Board of the Center on Capitalism and Society at Columbia University, and member of the Research Review Board of the CFA Institute Research Foundation. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) and a member of the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House), the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), and the Council on Foreign Relations. He also currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University.

Mr. Kiernan received an AB magna cum laude and an AM with distinction from the four-year AB/AM program at Boston College before attending the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy where he was a Century Fund Fellow and Editor-in-Chief of the Fletcher Forum of World Affairs. He later received an MBA from the University of Chicago where he was a First National Bank Scholar and is currently completing a PhD at Cambridge University.  He has been a Senior Fellow at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University where he led a seminar and research project on socially responsible investing (SRI) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) investing.

Rahul Kakar

Rahul Kakar

Rahul is the firm’s Chief Investment Officer as well as the portfolio manager for the APM Thematic equity strategy.He was most recently chairman of East Lifestyle Limited, a British womenswear fashion retailer with over 400 employees. Before that, he was a founding member and co-portfolio manager of HanKar Capital, a NY based relative value fund. Prior to HanKar Capital, Rahul had been a Managing Director at SwissRe and a founding member of the equities proprietary team. At SwissRe he was responsible for managing a group overseeing billions of dollars of assets in various strategies all with a high degree of derivative content.

Rahul started his career at Lehman Brothers where he worked for multiple years in both the Fixed Income & Equities divisions.

Matthew Hansen

Matthew Hansen

Matthew was most recently a Managing Member of Crypto Knight Capital, a fund that traded crypto assets. Before that, he was a founding member and Co-Portfolio Manager of HanKar Capital, a NY based relative value fund.Prior to that, Matthew had been a Co-Head of Global Equities at SwissRe managing over $8billion in various equity trading strategies. He had been a Managing Director at Lehman Brothers and Morgan Stanley responsible for various businesses in US Equity Structured Products.Matthew holds a BA degree in Quantitative Economics from Stanford University.

Phyllis K. Costanza

Phyllis K. Costanza

Phyllis is the Chief Social Investment Officer at Advanced Portfolio Management’s Social Investment Solutions division. In this role, she leads the development of a Social Intelligence strategy and associated funds targeting companies excelling in both social impact and financial performance. Previously, Phyllis served as Global Head of Social Impact and CEO of UBS Optimus Foundation for 11 years. She also worked for almost a decade at Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, helping the founders of hedge fund, TCI, to build a funding vehicle for global health, education and environmental protection.

Phyllis is a Member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a Senior Advisor for the Education Outcomes Fund for Africa and the Middle East, and a Sorenson Global Impact Leader. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, and spent 15 years of her career living and working in Austria, Switzerland and Ukraine.

Fan Jiang

Fan Jiang

Fan is the Portfolio Manager of the APM Index Plus strategy, which is a quantitative enhanced index solution for institutional investors.

Fan has served as the Director of Investment Research at APM, responsible for the Firm’s quantitative research, macroeconomic research, and manager due diligence.

Fan holds an MS degree in Operations Research from Columbia University, an MS degree in Sociology from Purdue University, and a BM degree in Agricultural Economics from Renmin University of China.

Megan Megale

Megan Megale

Megan O’Shea Megale is the Head of Business Development at Social Investment Solutions (SIS), a division of Advanced Portfolio Management (APM). Megan oversees the sales team and is responsible for growing the revenue and profitability of SIS..

Megan also oversees all communication, media relations and branding for APM.

Prior to this, Megan worked as a Senior Advisor for an ultra-high net worth individual leading his communication, brand strategy, and regular convenings of his Think Tank groups. This position demanded a high level of confidentiality and discretion.

Megan also co-founded Megale Public Relations firm, a 32-person firm based in New York City focused on financial institutions. She sold the firm after growing the clientele at a rate of 326% per year.

Megan’s sales experience originated at Johnson and Johnson where she was the number one sales director in the country for 13 years. In this role, she oversaw a national team which was the most profitable sales team in the division.

Megan serves on a number of boards including, Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, Canine Companions for Independence PTSD program, St Jude’s Hospital, and American Boy which Megan founded.

Jonmichael Dolgetta

Jonmichael Dolgetta

Jonmichael is responsible for APM’s operations, including trade execution, investment underwriting, portfolio analysis, and office management. Prior to joining APM, he was an Investment Associate at Octavian Capital Partners, a New York City–based family office, where he underwrote investments across a range of industries and asset classes. He holds a BS in Finance from Fordham University.

Shashvat Shah

Shashvat Shah

Shashvat focuses on developing of Machine Learning approaches for Quantitative Investment strategies at APM. He also leads the design and implementation of data aggregation and transformation techniques for investment research. Prior to joining APM, he worked at Goldman Sachs and HSBC in India, where he focused on Global Markets Technology solutions. Shashvat holds an MS in Computer Engineering from NYU Tandon School of Engineering.
